We welcomed the opportunity to renovate this 1916 Fred J. Orr neoclassical home right in the heart of Five Points. This impressive family home has 10 ft ceilings, 6 fireplaces, a grand sunroom, and porte-cochére, all of which were original to the house. We paid tribute to the elegant era of this home by giving it a thorough transformation in keeping with its classic intention, but allowing for larger, modern-sized spaces including custom, walk-in closets. While honoring the original style of Orr’s design, the newly implemented modern light fixtures, brass details, and bold paint choices juxtapose in the most appropriate way to show the grace of old against new.
We very much enjoyed the opportunity to build a spec home in Five Points, just blocks from downtown. The entire home was designed in-house, from the floor plan to all fixtures and finishes. Inspired by nearby houses on Dearing Street, we feel this new home fits right into the neighborhood! Photography: Daniel Pittard Big shout-out to WatersEdge Woodworks on providing us with some amazing Buck Shot Heart Pine reclaimed mixed-width hardwoods.
